Pasteurize substrate (straw, coffee grounds, or sawdust) at 60-80C for 1-2 hours to eliminate competing organisms before inoculation.
Maintain 85-95% humidity and provide fresh air exchange (CO2 below 800 ppm) during fruiting; stale air causes elongated stems and small caps.
Harvest by twisting and pulling entire clusters when cap edges begin to flatten; oyster mushrooms have a short shelf life (5-7 days refrigerated).
Oyster Mushroom typically takes 28 days from planting to harvest. Seeds germinate in about 14 days. The best planting season is year-round.
Oyster Mushroom grows best in straw substrate, hardwood sawdust, agricultural waste soil with a pH of 5.5-7. Moderate drainage is required.
Oyster Mushroom grows best at 15-25°C. Frost tolerance: light. Heat tolerance: low.
Oyster Mushroom yields approximately 50,000 kg fresh mushrooms/hectare under good conditions. Multiple harvests per year are possible (6).
